Lobby Insurgentes
For this building located in Insurgentes south, ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea carried out a renovation project of its access area and lobby. This building was built at the end of the 60s and for architects Bernardo and José Lew, directors of the firm, the challenge was to create a new image, taking advantage of it to make the necessary modifications so that this important area with intense traffic operated better.
The last renovation of this area was done in 1995 so it was very important to make a change to have a more contemporary image. Access from the street is protected by a generous bay for the circulation of cars towards the building's parking lot, as well as the sidewalk for the passage of pedestrians and customers of the commercial premises on both sides. At the access level to the building, the existing steps were divided and a ramp was made to improve functionality.
The reception module was located against the wall to maintain control of the building's visitors and tenants without impeding the flow. The color palette was kept very neutral for contrast to the bustle outside. The accent color is given by the green of the natural and artificial plants that were placed at different points to give the space a warm welcome. The result is an efficient and very safe space.
