Pabellón Tendencias elementos de tierra

For the 2012 edition of Habitat Expo, ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea was invited to participate in the Tendencies Pavilion—along with 3 other architects, interior designers and designers—who year after year are selected to develop a 36 m² installation using exclusively the products and services of the exhibitors of the event. In this edition the theme was the 4 elements and the architects Bernardo and José Lew had: earth.

For the architects and their team, the element of earth is understood as something evidently natural and always related to the environment, like the roots of a tree. Their objective was to conceptualize, in natural textures and neutral colors, the feeling of being inside the earth. The pavilion presents a forest that is apparently closed from the outside, but has a side entrance that leads to the center of it to experience it from the inside.
